Overview
The Bureau of Personnel Management is responsible for administering a comprehensive personnel program for the Department which includes the following areas:
- Recruitment and Employment
- Classification and pay
- Attendance and leave
- Grievances and appeals
- Labor relations
- Affirmative Action/EEO
- Personnel records
- Payroll
- Benefits
The Bureau Chief's Office is responsible for developing the overall personnel policy for the Department and for the maintenance and interpretation of the Department's Administrative Policies and Procedures relating to personnel programs. In addition, the Bureau Chief's Office oversees payroll, the Bureau budget and the Department rate control function and provides direction and supervision to all the sections in the bureau.
