Scope of Inspection Data Published on Our Web Site
Currently, the inspection information published on our Web Site includes only supermarkets and grocery stores in all Florida counties. Data is current as of the date displayed on the inspection report.
A supermarket is a large retail food store that handles a wide variety of foods and also has other activities such as a bakery, meat market, seafood market and/or a deli within the store. These firms normally have five or more checkout registers.
A grocery store is a smaller retail food store that also stocks a wide variety of foods and may have other activities but on a smaller scale. These firms normally have four or fewer checkout registers.
Please note that convenience stores, food manufacturers and other firms regulated by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services that are engaged in the selling, holding, and/or processing food are not included at this time.
GOOD - FAIR - POOR Ratings
A firm will receive one of three possible ratings during an inspection -- good, fair, or poor.
Good and fair ratings are passing (satisfactory), i.e., comply with sanitation requirements.
A poor rating is not a passing rating, i.e., unsatisfactory in meeting sanitation requirements.
Sanitation requirements may be found in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Food Code 2001.
