Dialeurodes kirkaldyi Kotinsky

Suggested common name: Kirkaldy whitefly

Kirkaldy whitefly

Diagnosis: The pupa is yellowish-green and has a brown area on the dorsum from just anterior of the vasiform orifice to the cephalic segment.

Comments: D. kirkaldyi may be confused with D. citri and D. citrifolii but neither of these species have the brown longitudinal stripe on the dorsum of the pupal case. According to Russell (1964) the pupae of D. kirkaldyi usually has a characteristic outline with a slight constriction posterior to the tracheal pores.
