Tetraleurodes ursorum CockerellSuggested common name: bearberry whitefly |
![]() |
Diagnosis: Pupal case black with a very small white fringe around the base. No dorsal wax secretion on pupal case.
Comments: This species appears very similar to T. mori but has much less of a white wax fringe around the pupal case than mori. T. ursorum is not common on citrus in Florida and is apparently not economically important.
There are other species on ornamentals that appear very similar to T. ursorum, and a microscope slide may be necessary for a definitive identification. For more information on other species please see Nakahara 1995: 105-150.
