Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services requires the registration of all nurseries (as well as nursery stock dealers, agents, and plant brokers) and conducts inspections of nursery stock throughout the year. Inspections of plants in nurseries substantially increases the probability of intercepting or detecting a serious pest before it becomes established or widely distributed. Learn more about registering or renewing nursery registrations here.
This page provides a list of plant and pest permits available from the department's Division of Plant Industry. It includes applications for inclusion to the noxious weed list, nursery and stock dealer import and export documents, import form for exotic organisms, non-native species planting permits and other department licenses and permits. If you aren't able to find the information you need, please call our helpline at 1-888-397-1517.
The Bureau of Plant and Apiary Inspection is responsible for protecting Florida’s agricultural industry and the public from the introduction and spread of serious plant and apiary pests. The bureau enforces Florida statutes and departmental rules pertaining to the movement of plants, plant products, honey bees and beekeeping equipment. The bureau also conducts routine surveys for the early detection of plant and apiary pests.
