Florida is home to many parks and forests that offer a variety of recreational activities for everyone. Exploring a new park or trail is a great way to spend time as a family while also being physically active. Find outdoor activities and locations near you:

  • Florida State Parks: Florida has 171 state parks. Find one near you or take a weekend trip to see a new area.
  • Florida State Parks Events: Florida state parks host a variety of events and activities throughout the year so there is something for everyone.
  • Florida State Parks Junior Rangers: Kids can join the Junior Rangers to learn about, protect and share our parks' natural and cultural resources.
  • Florida State Forests: Learn about the Trailtrotter program, the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail, Operation Outdoor Freedom and other programs offered at Florida's state forests.
  • Florida National Parks: There are 11 national parks throughout Florida from Key West to the Gulf Islands.
  • Local Parks and Recreation: Florida's 67 counties and over 400 cities, towns and villages offer opportunities for healthy activities and programs near you.
  • Every Kid in a Park: Every Kid in a Park is an initiative to get all fourth-graders and their families to experience national parks, national forests, national wildlife refuges and more free of charge!
  • Geocaching: Geochaching is an outdoor, interactive treasure hunt game using hand-held global positioning systems (GPS). Visit the Florida State Parks website to learn more about geocaching in Florida's parks.
