The Florida State Collection of Arthropods (FSCA) features thousands of drawers, slides and vials containing an estimated 10 million prepared specimens. Millions more specimens are held in bulk alcohol containers and various dry samples. The major parts of the museum include: insects, non-insect arthropods, and special collections. The extensive and diverse assortment of arthropods in the FSCA Museum of Entomology includes over 3,500 primary types (holotypes and lectotypes) and over 15,000 secondary types (allotypes, paratypes, etc.).
